சிதைக்கின்றால் நெஞ்சமதை

ஒரு பக்க முகம் பார்த்து
உருக்குலைந்து நான் போனேன்.
மறுபக்கம் கண்டுருக,
மறுஜென்மம் வேண்டுமென்பேன்.
சிறுதுக்கம் சிரித்துளவும்
சின்னதிறு செவ்விழியால்,
சிதைக்கின்றால் சிதைக்கின்றால்
சீறியெழும் நெஞ்சமதை!

    English translation:

    On seeing one side of her face,I lost my balance!
    To admire the other side, I need another life(birth)!
    She is tearing my stimulated heart,
    with her two small red eyes, where a (negligibly)small sadness prevails.
